It was written by a man named Lao Tsu 400BC or so. The primary reason that Ancient Chinese religions were not exclusive lies in the concept of Zhengguo (central state) or "China". In Chinese history, Taoism and Buddhism are two great philosophical and religious traditions along with Confucianism. This point of view also applies to the religious situation of East Asia.
